Queer as Folk
This is an American
television series that tells the story of a group of gays: Brian, Justin,
Michael, Emmett and Ted; from a lesbian couple, Lindsay and Melanie; and
Michael's mother, Debbie, who lives in Pittsburg, United States. This group of
friends live their lives and sexuality naturally, getting to know each other,
starting new relationships, and sometimes confronting those who don't
understand their sexual orientation. The title of the series comes from a
dialect expression from some parts of the North of England "there's no
thought so queer as folk", which means "nothing is as strange as
people". It is also a play on words, since "queer" means
"gay" as well as "strange".
